TSB’s mobile and internet banking crashes on payday as customers struggle to connect
TSB says its mobile and internet banking services are currently ‘unavailable’ – and customers less than impressed with the timing
Thousands of TSB customers have found themselves unable to view or access their payments due to a mobile and internet banking issue.
The blackout appears to have started just before 9 a.m. on Friday, according to the Downdetector website.
TSB’s own service status page said its app and mobile banking services were currently “down.”
“We are aware that some customers are reporting problems connecting to online banking services and the mobile app,” we read.
“We are currently investigating this and will provide an update as soon as possible.”
But the timing left a lot of struggles.
Andy Fleet tweeted: “@TSB website and application down. Useful when I have to pay staff salaries today! “
Gavin Conlan added: “@tsb the application again? I sincerely believe that it is time to change banks. Payday and I can’t transfer money or view my account. It’s becoming a regular thing now, an absolute joke. “
Kirstie Evans added: “@TSB is the application down again! Payday trying to pay the bills and can’t it get ridiculous, can you tell us when it will be up and running? “

TSB customers can still make payments over the phone or online – although the bank said it anticipated “increased call wait times” on its service status page.
Branch banking services are also available – to some extent.
“We follow government guidelines for social distancing. Please do not visit any of our branches unless absolutely necessary,” the TSB service status page says.
