I-295 closed following serious accident in Hamilton Township, NJ
A very serious accident involving an overturned vehicle resulted in the closure of parts of I-295 in our area as of 4 p.m. Wednesday evening.
94.5 PST traffic reports that a vehicle overturned on I-295 northbound is closed between Exit 57 and Exit 60.
It’s quite a delay. Exit 57 is the exit for US-130 and exit 60 is the exit for I-195 / NJ-29 / NJ-129.
Traffic in the White Horse section of Hamilton Township is currently at a standstill due to the accident. Traffic in Bordentown is also very heavy at the moment.
It is not known how many vehicles were involved in the accident. But we hear of “several” seriously injured as a result of the accident which occurred around 3:30 pm. 6ABC reports that a white van appears to be involved.
Currently, the New Jersey Turnpike is the suggested alternate route if heading north.
Traffic is also slowed down on the south side of the carriageway, as you can imagine. Police activity is blocking two lanes between Arena Drive (Exit 61) and I-195 (Exit 60).
