Executive chefs Ryan Poles could have a choice of chief executive jobs
Waiting to see if the Kansas City Chiefs lose other coaches to the carousel of new recruits in the National Football League (or even the college ranks for that matter, given the loss of the linebackers coach Matt House), it actually looks as if the team’s next loss will come from their front office.
Over the past few weeks, Chiefs executive Ryan Poles, who served as the team’s executive director of player personnel for the past two years, has secured multiple interviews with at least three teams we know of, ranging from the Giants from New York to Minnesota. Vikings and, soon, the Chicago Bears.
For now, the Giants have already fulfilled their role as general manager with the selection of Joe Schoen from the Buffalo Bills. The others are not only still vacant but apparently even waiting for Poles.
KC Chiefs general manager Ryan Poles could have a choice of general manager positions in the NFC North.
According to a report by Vikings insider Matthew Coller, the Poles are the favorites to lead the Minnesota front office for the foreseeable future if he will accept the position. There is, however, another team on the way.
Poles has been on teams’ radar as an up-and-coming general manager for a few years now, and last year he got his first interviews with the Carolina Panthers. He lost that role to Seattle Seahawks executive Scott Fitterer, but it was clear the Poles wouldn’t be long in Kansas City.
The Poles first joined the Chiefs nearly a decade and a half ago and have served under Scott Pioli, John Dorsey and Brett Veach in the team’s rise to such sustained success.
